Receptionist

As a River Cruise Receptionist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth operations at the reception. Your main duties will involve interacting with guests, assisting with their inquiries, and facilitating their on-board experience. You will be an integral part of the ship’s hospitality team, contributing to the overall guest satisfaction and enjoyment of their cruise.
What will be your main tasks?
• Being the first point of contact for the guests, greeting them upon arrival with a warm welcome and handling all guests’ inquiries and complaints in a friendly and helpful way with the highest level of hospitality.
• Providing accurate and timely information regarding embarkation, ship activities, services, and amenities.
• Checking in and out of guests, assisting with luggage handling and issuing cabin keys and managing lost key procedures.
• Performing general office duties such as answering phone calls, sorting mail and maintaining guest records.
• Communicating and cooperating with the Front desk manager and Hotel manager about guests’ experiences, special requests and issues.
• Handling guests’ reservations, room assignments and special requests in a professional manner.
• Promoting a positive and open environment where guests feel comfortable.
• Being presentable and able to act as a good ambassador for the company.
• Maintaining and updating guests’ accounts, preparing and settling bills accurately through credit card or cash transactions.
Who are we looking for?
• Some experience in a relevant position, preferably in the hospitality industry or on a cruise ship.
• Proficient in MS Office and Resco (or similar)
• Fluent in English in written and oral (an additional language like German is an advantage)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work in a team and independently in a fast-paced environment with irregular hours.
• Pro-active, discrete, reliable and attention to detail
• Customer oriented and problem-solving ability.
• Being resilient and tactful in their behavior
• Willing to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends and holidays).
