Hotel Manager

As the Hotel Manager on our River Cruises, you will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless operation and great hospitality of our onboard hotel and guest services. You will oversee all aspects and co-ordinate all the hospitality tasks to ensure the highest possible guests’ well-being, experience and product satisfaction. Your leadership will be critical in creating an exceptional experience for our guests.

What will be your main tasks?

• Managing the (international) teams of the galley, front desk and housekeeping of the cruise ship in a positive and productive manner.
• Being the ANQOR representative on board and coordinating the daily operations on board in close consultation with the nautical department (Captain) and the representative of the tour operator.
• Conducting daily cabin & public lounges spot checks, according to the audit checklist to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met.
• Maintaining contact with HR and Operations to discuss team issues.
• Taking care of the work schedule and execution of the daily planning.
• Taking care of the onboarding, supervising and training of new team members to ensure a high level of performance and professionalism.
• Dealing with any special request from guests in an efficient, professional and accurate manner.
• Receiving and processing on board payments, responsible for the ship’s cashbook.
• Maintaining a strong presence in guest areas, interacting with guests to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
• Taking care of correct and sufficient orders for the entire hotel operation and the coordination of loading.
• Managing all crew matters on board like crew lodging, meals, crew cleanliness and maintenance, crew welfare and recreations, and uniforms.
• Promoting a positive, collaborative and open work environment where employees feel comfortable.
• Monitoring the correct execution of the company’s policies and procedures.
• Being presentable and able to act as a good ambassador for the company.y

Who are we looking for?

• A relevant degree in Hospitality or Management
• Min. 3 years of experience in a managerial position in the hospitality industry, preferably within the cruise industry or similar environment.
• Proficient in MS Office and Resco (or similar)
• English in written and oral (an additional language is an advantage.)
• Organizational and planning skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced and multicultural environment.
• Attention to details and a professional work ethic.
• Good communication skills and customer oriented.
• Flexible and open mentality and being able to lead, support and motivate others.
