PASTRY CHEF

As Pastry Chef on River Cruises, you will play a key role in our kitchen, responsible for creating and preparing the desserts and pastries for our guests and ensuring high quality and creativity to meet our standards of excellence.
What will be your main tasks?
• Preparing, baking and presenting pastries, cakes, chocolates and other dessert items.
• Ensuring that all pastry creations are made with precision and attention to detail.
• Collaborating with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to ensure seamless coordination between the pastry and savory sections and dietary restrictions.
• Ensuring that the quality, taste, and presentation of the pastry products and desserts meets the company’s standards and addressing customer feedback.
• Ensuring that all ingredients and products are prepared and stored according to hygiene and quality standards.
• Coordinating with other sections to ensure smooth and timely delivery of the pastries and dessert items.
• Creating new desserts, specials and seasonal items.
• Performing presentations for the guests (for example Apple strudel demo, Sugar deco demo).
• Monitoring the stock levels, ensuring ingredients are available when needed and proper storage of ingredients to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
Who are we looking for?
• A culinary degree or relevant experience.
• A pastry certification is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Food health and Safety regulations (HACCP), European and International cuisine and various baking and pastry techniques.
• Knowledge of the latest trends in pastry & baking and kitchen equipment.
• Being able to work fast, efficiently and to communicate in English.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Able to work in a team and independently.
• Having a good work ethic, attention to detail and creativity and passion for baking.
• Willing to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends, holidays.
