LAUNDRY ATTENDANT

As the Laundry attendant you will be responsible for keeping all linen on board the ship neat and available. Your efforts and care will contribute immensely to the overall guest experience.

What will be your main tasks?

• Washing, drying, ironing, folding and storing all linen in the designated areas for daily use.
• Scheduling the laundry operation taking the ‘just in time’ practice and adhering to the safety precautions (HACCP).
• Monitoring the inventory levels of linens, towels, uniforms and laundry supplies and reporting low stock levels.
• Maintaining and cleaning the laundry machines in an appropriate way.
• Inspecting the linens and uniforms for damage or stains and ensuring that items meet the quality standards before distribution.
• Washing, drying and ironing of guests’ clothes on request and ensure proper labeling and tracking of guest laundry items to prevent loss or mix-up.
• Working closely with other housekeeping staff to ensure a smooth operation of the department and assisting wherever help is needed.
• Providing help with the luggage on guests’ (dis)embarkation days.

Who are we looking for?

• Relevant experience in hospitality and/or on a ship is an advantage.
• Able to work fast and efficiently.
• Being able to communicate in English.
• Able to work in a team and independently.
• Willing to learn and open minded.
• Being flexible and able to work under pressure.
• Having a good work ethic and attention to detail.
