As the accommodation manager you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the housekeeping staff onboard the cruise ship. You will be in charge of the cleanliness and maintenance and your role is crucial in providing an excellent appearance of the ship which will enhance the guest experience.
What will be your main tasks?
• Planning and preparing the work schedules for the Housekeeping team according to the guest occupancy.
• Ensuring that the housekeeping procedures and training checklists are in place, maintained, and adhered to.
• Supervising the work and taking appropriate actions in case of underperforming.
• Liaising with the Front desk services to coordinate the allocation of accommodation of guests and crew members.
• Ensuring that special requests from guests (e.g. extra pillows, special cleaning requirements) are fulfilled in a timely manner.
• Coordinating daily the cabin checks to ensure that hygiene and health and safety regulations are met, and cabins are up to the company’s standards.
• Overseeing the laundry operations, ensuring timely and efficient service for both guests and crew.
• Fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Providing help with luggage on guests’ (dis)embarkation days.
Who are we looking for?
• Some experience in a relevant position, preferably in the hospitality industry or on a cruise ship.
• Fluent in English in written and oral.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work fast and efficiently.
• Good organizational, interpersonal and managerial skills.
• Being flexible and able to work under pressure.
• Having a good work ethic and attention to detail.
