KITCHEN ATTENDANT

As a Kitchen attendant on River Cruises, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for food preparation.

• Washing, rinsing and sanitizing dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using dishwashing machines or by hand as required.
• Ensuring all cleaned items are stored properly and are readily available for use.
• Sorting and removing trash and placing it in designated pickup areas.
• Maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the dishwashing area, including floors, walls and equipment.
• Monitoring and maintaining (routine cleaning) dishwashing machines and other equipment and reporting malfunctions or maintenance needs to the Executive Chef.
• Helping with the setup and breakdown of kitchen workstations and dining areas.
• Cooperating with the galley staff and assisting wherever help is needed in the e.g. with peeling and cutting vegetables, cleaning.
• Helping with keeping an organized and well-stocked kitchen inventory.
• Assisting with extra duties like (un)loading of supplies and laundry.
• Using and storing cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and in accordance with instructions.

• Some experience in a similar position is an advantage.
• Being willing, open minded and motivated to follow training on board.
• Basic knowledge of sanitation and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work fast and efficiently and to communicate in English.
• Able to work in a team and independently.
• Being flexible and able to work under pressure.
• Having a good work ethic and attention to detail.
• Willing to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends, holidays).
