Restaurant Manager

As a Restaurant Manager on River Cruises, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the onboard restaurant and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Your leadership and management skills will play a crucial role in maintaining high-quality service standards and guest satisfaction throughout their journey along picturesque river routes.

What will be your main tasks?

• Building and maintaining positive relationships with passengers, addressing their dining needs and preferences.
• Training, supervising and scheduling of restaurant staff.
• Maintaining a welcoming and guest-focused atmosphere in the restaurant.
• Addressing guest inquiries, concerns, and special requests promptly and professionally and striving to exceed guest expectations.
• Monitoring guest feedback and implementing improvements as needed.
• Overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, including opening and closing procedures.
• Ensuring the restaurant is properly set up, clean, organized, and wellmaintained.
• Collaborating with the chef to develop and update menus, including special menus for themed dinners and dietary restrictions.
• Monitoring the presentation of food to meet high standards and cooperating with the culinary team to ensure consistency.
• Manage inventory levels for dining and restaurant supplies.
• Planning and coordinating special events according to the Catalog of Service, such as wine tastings, themed dinners, and private parties.
• Being presentable and leading by example, setting high standards for hospitality.

Who are we looking for?

• Min. 3-5 years’ experience in restaurant management, preferably on a cruise ship.
• Food and beverage service etiquette and health and Safety regulations (HACCP).
• Strong organizational, planning and managerial skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work fast and efficiently in a team.
• Being able to communicate in English.
• Open mentality and being able to lead, support and motivate others.
• Having a good work ethic and excellent customer service.
• Willing to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends, holidays).
